one month

monkey man -

it has been such a whirlwind - i can't believe your father and i have actually made it this far.
(considering we can barely keep plants alive this is truly a feat)
so far this month, we have learned that you love to eat, sleep, and poop, obviously.
what we didn't count on, and have since come to um... accept, is that what you really like to do,
is pee on us.
it's as if you like to wait until we are totally not paying attention, and then WHAMMO - pee right in the face.
and i must say kiddo - your aim is spot on.
just the other day - your dad and i were getting you ready for your cousin's first birthday party.
we had just finished giving you a bath and were drying you off when you decided that peeing was on the menu.
there was such a soaring arc of wee that it actually almost hit the wall - the opposite wall.
zack and i were laughing so hard we didn't even try to stop you.
we just stood there, looking from each other to the pee and then back to each other.
i mean - wow! way to go kiddo!
at some point we regained our decorum and zack put his hand over the stream.
needless to say a hand does not contain a pee fountain.

good times.

we have also found you like to fart on us during diaper changes.
don't get me wrong, you like to fart all the time, it just seems more prevalent when your ass is hanging in the (ahem) wind.
it's quite cute - i can't wait to remind you of it in front of your high school girlfriend.

on a more serious note, we have to bid farewell to your auburn hair (the only proof you're my kid) or at least the hair on the very top of your head.
it would seem my little man that you have (very early onset) male pattern baldness.
i assume it will come back - but if it doesn't, know that bald men are sexy - just check out bruce willis.
(by the time you can read this he'll probably be in a movie called Die Hard 16... check it out - it's bound to be good)

since we are on hair - your ear hair (affectionatley called hobbit ears) is still around - as is your butt hair.
what has diminished is your fozzy bear back and shoulder hair.
i am going to miss it.

what's really cool is you have become more aware lately - just last night you hung out on your tummy pad playground thing and totally eyeballed the monkey the whole time.
you should - monkeys are always up to something.

well - i can hear you squalling now - must be time to eat (again).

love -

mama
